About Me

Hello and welcome!

I am so glad you have chosen to find out more about my services. Unhealthy coping skills and behaviors in ourselves and in our children and families can ruin our precious relationships. Counseling is a pathway to joyful living!

This is my mission to help others find peace and joy in the midst of work, stress, pressures, chaos, family issues, children and teen problems, grief and loss….and the list goes on and on.

There is an EYE in the STORM of life and I endeavor to help people learn to LIVE in that peaceful place, no matter what is swirling around them.

Scheduling Availability: I work at my private practice on Monday and Tuesdays and provide live chat and phone counseling here on this platform 6am-12pm Wednesdays and Thursdays. I do make up sessions by live chat only on the weekends by appointment via the message board. Please look at your schedule before accepting my services. The first session will be on live chat to establish if we are a good fit. Thank you!

My Experience

18 years of school counseling experience, grades K-12
5 years as an LPC Intern ~ clinical hours acquired in 3 high schools serving highly at risk teens and 2 crisis pregnancy centers
Bachelors degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology
Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance
TEA certification in Elementary Education and Language/Learning Disabilities
My years as a speech therapist, elementary teacher, school counselor, and LPC Intern helped fine tune my skills in understanding various issues in children’s and adults’ lives. I learned that unhealthy coping skills and past hurts and losses interfere with joy and happiness and the goal of becoming a fulfilled human being. I became a specialist in guiding children and their parents to discover their strengths and weaknesses, fulfill their mission, set boundaries and communicate more effectively, and make better choices for balanced living.

First and foremost, I respect others and their religious preferences. I do not ever want to make anyone feel uncomfortable when seeing me. As you have read, I have extensive training in all kinds of therapies and use them as needed with my clients.

I am also a Christian counselor and refer to the bible and the tremendous love of the Holy Trinity to help in the healing process that I believe counseling should be. God has worked in my life in wonderful and amazing ways. I cannot leave Him out of my therapy.

I use CBT, person centered, and solution focused techniques, as well as personal growth and development. This is all under the larger umbrella of Healing with Christ's guidance and assistance. I pray for my clients and ask God to send me the people He wants me to help.

I am blessed to do this work for God. This is my mission! ~Linda Mappin

Linda is wonderful, supportive, consistent, present, loving. I'm so thankful for Linda and for this service. I would not be able to see a counselor otherwise.
