About Me

Hello! Are you in need of professional support to help you uncover your true potential necessary for confronting and defeating a difficult situation? If you answered yes, then you have come to the right place!

I am a graduate of Liberty University where I learned to incorporate scriptures into my counseling works as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 19 years of experience. I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults including LGBT. I have had the privilege of working with couples and families, too. I have worked with diverse clients of all ages and stages of life with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, stress, labile mood, abuse, trauma, bereavement, parenting problems, relationships, anger management, conflict resolution, separation anxiety issues, learning disabilities, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder and more. In addition, I am working towards my Substance Abuse Counselor Certification (CSAC Supervisee) and work with individuals diagnosed with co-occurring mental health diagnoses and substance use issues. My awareness of cross-cultural understanding grows continually and I highly respect individuals who come from different cultural backgrounds.

My counseling style is positive and interactive within an environment that is safe and non-judgmental. I believe in treating everyone with respect and kindness.

Through a client-centered approach, I empower and motivate clients to develop greater independence to cope with current and future problems they may encounter. However, I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused brief therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. I use an integrated approach as well as customize treatment based on an individual’s unique needs to address each person as a whole.
You have already made the first step by seeking help! Change takes courage! If you are ready to take the next step to make changes in your life, then I am here to help you on your journey.

I look forward to meeting and working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lisa McIntosh. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Faithful Counseling might be different.

Written by J.A. on May 08, 2022 after therapy with Lisa for 3 weeks

My first session with Lisa was nice. She seemed to listen and gather information. However, I’m challenged in believing she is passionate about this line of work. When asked why she chose therapy as career path she stated “I like to talk”… interesting because that is completely different from what her bio says. My second session she discussed she would be leaving faithful counseling and going to another counseling app to work in the next few weeks.

She was nice but I did not feel her compassion, empathy and sincerity in her work. I feel as if I have wasted my money on this app lying weekly for me to pour my heart out only to not be heard. If you signed up and truly are ready for change, book with another therapist.
