I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of IL (and soon to be licensed in FL as well). I have over 10 years of experience working as a counselor and university professor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, trauma, OCD, and ADHD. I also have a PhD in International Psychology with a trauma focus, so I understand and apply culturally competent techniques to all of my client interactions. In addition, my master's degree is from a seminary so I can also provide faith-based counseling as needed.
My counseling style is engaging and kind. I believe in treating all people with dignity and compassion . My approach combines Rogerian, Solution-Focused, and Trauma-Focused CBT. I also use Narrative theory and Motivational Interviewing as appropriate. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Erickson is very kind, and supportive. She really helps to put things into perspective in ways that I wouldn't think of, and uses biblical background which is also very helpful. She is reliable, and thoughtful. Would recommend.
She's wonderful!. She's helped me move forward with my goals and self esteem! I really feel comfortable with her.
Dr. Erickson is very sweet and caring. She treats you very respectively. She also listens and makes sure you are comfortable with solutions. If or when they do not work, she will make sure to try to find an alternative way. She has helped me be accountable to do what I have to do to better myself. I am very thankful that I was able to have a platform and speak to someone when I couldn't find anyone.
