Hello, I am Lynda Feldt, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. I am also a Christian. I worked for over 20 years in the public education setting serving a diverse population of people with special needs. My passion for helping lead me to pursue a second career in counseling to help people in a different capacity. I enrolled in the counseling program at the University of Houston Victoria and graduated with a master’s degree in 2016. My experience includes community mental health, guidance counseling, and addiction counseling.
For many years I struggled with my spiritual life and religious teachings from my childhood. I was lost in my relationship with Christ. Through God’s love and the help of wonderful Christians doing the work of Christ, I was found and recommitted my life to the teachings of Christ. I have been reading and studying the bible for 16 years and continue to do so. I am familiar with Catholicism and protestant denominations, as well as nondenominational bible-based Christianity. I consider myself a disciple of Christ. While I do not have a degree in Christian counseling if you desire a professionally trained counselor that is comfortable talking about spiritual dilemmas and how the teachings of the bible are relevant to our healing I can help.
My therapeutic approach is solution-focused, which enables you to identify your strengths and help you move toward your ideal life. I have experience in integrating approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address your individual needs. These approaches help you change thinking and behavior that do not produce positive experiences in your life. I also utilize skills from mindfulness-based self-compassion, meditation, and somatic interventions.
If you are struggling with an addiction or a behavior that does not support your desired life, I have over 25 years of experience with 12-step recovery. I can help you better understand the 12-step approach to overcoming addiction and undesired behavior. I am also familiar with Christian recovery programs such as Celebrate Recovery. I am a member of my church’s ministry to end the stigma of addiction and provide help to people struggling with addiction or who have a family member with an addiction.
The therapeutic relationship is very important. You need a place where you can be vulnerable without judgment. I strive to provide that safe place. I have a deep understanding of cultural diversity based on travels around the world, as well as my personal and professional experiences. I am able to meet you where you are and support you on the journey to a better life.

Of all the counselors that I have been to AND felt uncomfortable with, Lynda has been the very first counselor that I've felt comfortable with. It was by God's hand that Lynda was chosen for me to help me get to the root of ALL of my issues. Normally, I would try to hide my past but Jesus has given me the peace and courage to reveal everything Lynda so that I would have the capacity to live life as God intended without all of that baggage.
Lynda has helped me to find tools to deal with past trauma. She is a respectful in her approach and has a variety of different methods that she uses. I feel comfortable to talk to her and the sessions have helped me as well as messaging her in between.
