It is wonderful that you are taking the first step because it is one of the hardest parts to make positive change.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Addictions Counselor II. I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2008.
I have worked in a variety of counseling roles and settings from private practice, court referred victims, residential, and recovery inpatient facilities utilizing both a secular point of view or a Christian, biblical foundation depending on the client's desires and values.
I have lead bible studies for years and I am a mother of four teen and adult kids, and I have twof lo amazing grand kids. The clients I have worked with have experienced a wide range of concerns including adjustments and change; trauma and past trauma; marriage, family, parenting and relationship dynamics; dependency and addiction issues; employment and homelessness; grief and loss; coping; anxiety; depression; personality disorders; identity in Christ; finding God's plan and purpose and finding joy and fulfillment in Him, even in the storms of life.
My style of counseling is very client-centered. I want to meet you where you are and foster a warm and safe place to process and navigate through past and present difficulties and experiences. I am very compassionate and empathetic. I value and strive toward a balanced biblical and clinical counseling approach. I believe everyone is made uniquely and deserves respect and understanding. Therefore, I draw from a variety of counseling theories and techniques that is best fitting to the individual’s needs, desires and goals. I gravitate toward family systems, cognitive behavioral, solution focused, motivational interviewing, narrative, psycho-dynamic therapy modalities and more to help us work together toward solutions. Life can catch up with us or become challenging at various seasons. Having someone present to walk alongside us is helpful from time to time. As you are ready, I am passionate to help people heal and find hope towards the changes you desire to live life to the fullest. I prayerfully walk alongside as you try to find who you believe Christ is calling you to be and what you believe He has planned for you. I am honored to be a part of that journey.
