Hi there, I'm a Christian and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I was blessed to know the Lord at a very young age; however, have solidified my faith at various turning points throughout my life. These turning points that have solidified my relationship with Christ have stemmed from experiencing personal pain, loss of a loved one, or from gaining a new insight. Though moments like these can naturally raise questions in our faith; for me, they have been tantamount to realizing that Christ has and always will be the cornerstone of my life. I decided to pursue counseling because it seemed that along with these turning points in my life there has also always been a person who was pivotal to my overcoming that particular obstacle. Of course, these people were literally God sends. I wanted God to use me this way in a professional capacity so that I could walk with others through their own difficulties.
I completed my Masters degree at a wonderful Seminary, and couldn't have been more blessed to have received such a thorough education which not only strengthened my theological knowledge, but also gave me the tools I needed to practice marriage and family therapy. I have been working with families and individuals in a mental health capacity for 6 years now. I have worked with a diverse range of populations and various issues. More specifically, it has been my privilege to help people heal from and work through issues such as chronic depression, grief, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, multigenerational issues including sibling and parenting issues, boundary setting in relationships, and history of trauma or abuse.
My approach to therapy has been described as insightful and practical. My counseling style is client-centered meaning that you are the focus of therapy and the ultimate expert on yourself - thus, our work together will involve drawing out your strengths and helping you move forward in a warm and supportive environment. We can include Scripture and prayer in the measure that you are comfortable with this.
I know that life can get tough leaving us feeling stuck, confused or overwhelmed. Therapy can help, so I am glad you are considering this option. If you decide to work with me, I am confident that together and with God's guidance, we can find a way to help you move forward and feeling in control of your life once again.

Martha has been a gift from God. Martha helps guide me in a compassionate truthful way!
Martha is understanding.
After every session, I feel better. Martha helps me to see things I usually don’t notice or just not aware of. I feel comfortable speaking to her because she always has the right response. I don’t feel judged, and she has helped me understand that it takes time to move forward.
She’s great. Very understanding and helpful.
Martha Padilla has been a wonderful help for me as I navigate a difficult time in my life. She is very informed, listens to my concerns and provides meaningful feedback to help me get back on track with my life.
Martha has great insight, offers great suggestions, and is very supportive.
Working with Martha has been so refreshing. She provides insights into my doubts, fears and anxieties so much to the point where it feels like she’s known me for years. I feel like she really sees me and it’s added to my growth as a person working with her.
My last counselor wasn’t like Martha. I was disappointed to see that I wasn’t being checked on or even seemed important to my last counselor but then I switched counselor’s and got Martha Padilla as my counselor and it totally changed every thing! I feel so much happier and at peace in where I’m at in life and feel very important because she takes the time to listen and guide me in my circumstances. Because of Martha, I would totally recommend FaithfulCounseling.
