My name is Merissa and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a Christian and enjoy working with clients of faith. I have over seven years experience in counseling as well as advocacy, mental health and substance abuse treatment. I specialize in empowering individuals that may be struggling with depression, self-acceptance, anxiety, self-esteem, mood disorders or relationship issues.
My main therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as I believe there is so much power in learning how thoughts influence behavior/emotion and then changing those negative patterns. I also incorporate holistic counseling and solution based therapy among other treatment approaches and tailor my approach to your needs. I am empathetic, non-judgmental and very passionate about the work I do and enjoy being able to help others heal, grow and achieve their goals.
I believe in the power of prayer and faith. One scripture that I rely on is Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11 (NIV) which says: "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." If you believe in the presence of God then you understand that you, your life and this journey is a part of His plan; find peace there and allow yourself to be safe in that promise.
I am excited about beginning this journey with you!

Merissa has been my counselor for the past five months and she has been absolutely amazing. She has really helped me to value the importance of seeking another perspective in situations. Her advice and counsel has been imperative in my growth and I am better for it. Thank you for all that you’ve done!
Merissa Pryor is an excellent counselor. She asks questions to make you think and before she gives her advice/opinion, she asks you first what you want to do? She is very good at summing up what you have said, and she gives the right terms for whatever you have gone through, which gives you the overview of your situation. She seems experienced and gives good advice. I would recommend Merissa Pryor to anyone who wants to talk to and receive understanding. In short, she is pretty good at her job.
