Life is not what it's supposed to be. It is what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference. - Virginia Satir (1916-1988)
Hello my name is Michael Lasser, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am licensed in the U.S. states of Kentucky, Louisiana, and Tennessee. I find it an honor to be able to help you with whatever is going on for you right now. The important thing here to remember is that no matter what obstacles life is throwing your way right now, YOU do not have to go through it alone.
I have found with life, that so many things pull us away from feeling fully alive and from having meaningful relationships with ourselves and with others. I enjoy helping people strengthen their belief in themselves and thus become less alienated. Therapy with me is about bringing awareness to behavior and thought patterns that no longer serve you. Without recognition of these patterns, it is impossible to make a conscious decision to be/do something new. You never know what's possible when you bring energy and imagination to the parts of yourself that need attention.
I work with individuals on issues pertaining to anxiety, addiction, depression, grief, relationships, sex related issues, and self- actualization. However I am confidant that I can help you with whatever you are going through. I've helped others create meaning from their experiences and purposes for their lives.
My approach to therapy is an integrated approach of experiential & cognitive behavioral therapy and a client centered focus with an emphasis on building a therapeutic relationship through empathy, genuineness, caring, and compassion. My primary goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, judgment free space for all clients.
Please note, I do offer live chat, video, and telephone sessions; however, at this time, I am only able to offer live chat and video sessions with evening or weekend appointments only.
