About me

I am an experienced counselor in practice now for 21 years. My specialties are depression, anxiety, Bipolar disorder, adult survivors of sexual trauma, and couples' recovery from affairs.

"It is not good for man to be alone." Even when the world was perfect, this was the case. We do so much better when we are working with others, but what a complex situation this can be! I am very experienced and happy to help! I am a consultant at SMU Perkins School of Theology where I have worked with interns and mentor pastors for 20 years.

What to expect:
Respect and Support - Most people find my straightforward approach helpful and solution-focused.
Flexible scheduling- If you do not see your favorite time on my calendar, just reach out and let me know!
Timely responses - I check messages and respond throughout the day.
Expertise - I have seen the impossible happen in person after person - 20,000 client hours! I believe people can achieve incredible things despite impossible odds because I've been there when it happens.

Three questions I'm known to ask people in therapy:
1. If you had your financial life at 100% satisfaction, what would be left to do for you to be your ideal self?

2. Why? (no matter what people say, I tend to follow by asking, "why"?)

3. If when you awake in the morning, everything was changed for the better, what is the first thing you'd notice?

A few other notes about me
I am married with two children. I have a workbook on Infidelity "Infidelity Recovery Workbook for Couples: Tools and Exercises to Rebuild Your Relationship" that has been in the top 100 dating books on Amazon since being released.

Dr. Thompson does a great job of helping me work through things and identify underlying things that I missed. She also works well with me to help come up with practical steps to address my stressors, etc. she holds me accountable too which I really appreciate it.

Work with me!
