Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to review my profile. My name is Dr. Nicole Grant and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have over 20 years working in various community based agencies provided services to individuals who were trying to cope with challenges that they faced. Some of the populations I've worked with include: individuals and families, domestic violence, the homeless, individuals living with a mental illness, substance abuse and HIV/AIDS. Since 2011 I have lectured, counseled and conducted trainings at various Christian organizations and churches around domestic violence and mental health.
I received my MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work and my PhD from Capella University.
My therapy style is engaging and warm. I will always lead with respect and ensure that the treatment plan is specific to the needs of the client. My approach to treatment is the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Based Brief Therapy. I believe in allowing my clients to be in the "drivers seat" as they are telling their story. I serve as someone who will guide the process as they work through their journey to begin to feel better and learn strategies to cope with whatever situations are presented.
My approach differs with each client as everyone's situation is unique. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable space where individuals can share, reflect and get support.
Taking the step to make changes toward a happier and healthier life is a process and I am committed to helping to guide that process.
