I attended New Mexico State University for my Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy and graduated in 2010. I have worked in a variety of settings including a psychiatric hospital, a state core agency, and a contract private practice group. I have worked with individuals ages 3 and up and from all walks of life. I focus mainly on individual therapy to maximize one's strengths and life changes. I tend to use a variety of therapy approaches depending on how a client responds and depending on what he/she is wanting to accomplish. I like to focus on a person's strengths and use those strengths to make needed changes. I tend to use some Experiential to build the therapeutic relationship, humanistic and strengths-based to build on a person's strengths, and Cognitive-Behavoiral Therapy to work on thought-changing and behavior modification. When a client requests a faith-based approach, I will work with them at their level, whether that means discussing Biblical morals, Scripture or simply considering their faith before making choices. I have attended a non-denominational church for many years and have sought Christian counsel for my own life choices in the past.

Nicole is a wonderful person to share my concerns with. She has responded timely, all through messenging...which is new to me, but I am adjusting. Thank you Nicole for your support.
This is the 1st time I have sought online counseling. Ms. Rivera-Brastad was a good first start for me. She has helped me to think outside the box with my recovery process. I would have no problems with recommending her to others if they were to try online counseling.
Nicole - you are such a joy. Your knowledge, words and counsel are helping me through a very difficult time in my life. Thank you, and may God bless you the way you bless others.
