About Me

Good day and God bless You!!!

Thank you for taking a moment to view my online profile. I commend you for taking the first step in improving your overall quality of life by searching for a health professional to assist you and/or a loved one. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) and life coach. I have been counseling since I graduated from Nyack College (Alliance Theological Seminary) in 2014 with a Master of Arts degree in Christian Mental Health Counseling. It was at Nyack College’s Alliance Graduate School of Counseling, that I truly developed an appetite for the science of psychology and spirituality. It is my passion to see individuals win in life. It drives me to counsel, educate individuals and communities on the power of the mind, spirituality, healthy nutritional habits and behaviors.

I have an extensive history of working as a health professional dating back to 2009, where I entered the field as a Therapeutic Counselor. Since that time, I have worked with individuals who were struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, and learning disabilities. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

I am passionate to assist individuals to develop a deeper relationship with God as they pursue wholeness in the struggles of life. I am also committed to being an instrument of God’s healing grace and providing support. God never intended for us to face the challenges of life alone. I always remind my clients that I too am human and experience challenging moments, but we all must push through and face our challenges head-on, we must never forget how amazingly made we are and how victorious we will be, as long as we never give up. It is through God's grace that we each are made whole.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV).

In addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I earned my Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification in 2016 from the NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services. I have over six (6) years of experience as a substance abuse specialist. My wide range of work experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with individuals from a range of cultures, races and socioeconomic backgrounds. My experience and training have also provided me with the foundation in which my integrative therapeutic approach derived from. My Person-Centered approach has woven into it, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a sprinkle of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

I have a passion to assist others who are in need of support and guidance on their journey of life. Together, we will explore the importance of understanding one's self, including the mental illness itself, phases, stages of life, and/or life circumstances. I possess a passion and purpose to ensure the safety of all that I have the honor to counsel, to assist individuals in their developmental growth and to work with them to achieve their set goals. We'll work to establish best practices that'll lead to improve communication between you and others. You will be educated, encouraged, and empowered to become a great guardian of your body, mind, and spiritual well-being.
It will be through our work together that you will begin to discover and implement coping skills/tools that will be designed to empower and reconcile you unto God. The great news is that there is a great life waiting for you, a purpose-driven life, on the other side of our work together.

“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." (James 2:17, NIV).

I am looking forward to seeing the movement of God in your life.

I love Nyakya. I always feel heard, not judged, encouraged, respected, and at peace when I finish a session with her. I also love that she begins and ends the session in prayer.

Nyakya did a great job helping me through a tough time. She listens attentively and brings a great perspective that helps me to think about my situation in a different light. Additionally, she is very responsive and makes time for live sessions.

Nyakya was very kind and understanding that my experience of online counseling was new and I felt uneasy at first. She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable with the concept. She is very knowledgeable in her field.
