Paula Sheppard, LPC

I am extremely impressed with Paula’s attentiveness and empathy. From the very beginning, she has been an excellent listener and has shown a genuine interest in helping me work through my issues. She is always fully present during our sessions, actively engaged in our conversations, and never makes me feel rushed or dismissed.

What I appreciate most about my Paula is her ability to empathize. She truly understands the emotions and struggles that I am going through and provides me with a safe space where I can express myself without any judgment. Her empathy has been instrumental in helping me develop a deeper understanding of myself and in finding ways to cope with the challenges I face.

I came on to better help to get some guidance and realization in my life with some Christian guidance and with Paula, I got exactly that. I got 100% support, love and help to realize my family issues, and to realize what type of person I am and how can I grow and help out everyone around me. What is my purpose and how do I fulfill my purpose while putting up boundaries. In my head, I kept going around in circles on how to establish that but Paula made my path clear and that is all thanks to God that he gave her the tools and she passed them on to me. I have learned so much, I have reconnected with my faith, and with my family, and began to be more joyful with my life thanks to Paula’s guidance.

Paula has been extremely helpful as my therapist. We were matched perfectly as she is about my same age with grown children like myself. She is able to open me up to see the positives in my life, and to work on gratitude. She turns my anger into encouragement and empathizes with my situation, but at the same time works with me on forgiveness. Never tells me what to do, but just talks about things to make me think and make good decisions.

Paula has been phenomenal. We are getting to the crux of a lot of deeply rooted themes that I have not felt safe being vulnerable about with other therapists in the past. I've been working with Paula on long-term effects (PTSD) of bullying in 4th grade. She suggested that we try EMDR, which she is trained in. After 3 sessions, I'm starting to see the results in terms of my mood being more positive, my thoughts are less negative, and I'm able to be more positive and confident. I'm looking forward to completing this series with Paula.
