Hi there! One of the most important factors in a positive therapy experience is the relationship between the client and therapist. I have been working in mental health for the past 5 years, and been a therapist for almost 3 years. The populations I have served thus far in my career include children and teens, young adults, middle aged adults, Veterans, and individuals in the corrections system.
I primarily use Solution Focused Therapy. In my opinion, it is important to have the client identify the “problem” then collaborate to develop practical interventions that address the issue. Much of my experience as a clinician has been with individuals facing depression, anxiety, impulse control, and challenges with stress management. I believe that God has equipped us with everything we need to overcome the challenges in our life, but sometimes we need help to discover these tools.
