About Me

I am grateful that you have made the decision to begin counseling. I believe that counseling is such an integral part of self-care. I believe faith can be helpful to integrate into mental health counseling. I have worked with clients who have had many different beliefs about their faith. I have worked with clients who have a strong sense of faith and others who have experienced a loss of faith due to traumatic events. My goal is to meet the client where they are at and help them gain skills to live their best life.

I am a compassionate counselor who loves to help my clients feel empowered. I have a Master of Science in Professional Counseling as well as a Masters of Science in Addiction Counseling. I also have two independent licenses which are Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC). I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is used to process traumatic events. I also have a certificate as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Trauma and Addiction. I have had the privilege of working in multiple areas such as treatment centers for substance use disorders, community mental health, in-home counseling, and private practice.

I provide client-centered therapy and encourage my clients to set goals and work towards accomplishing these goals. I often introduce two-part system I call “Take action and heal the roots.” This means that I help clients identify root causes of what they might be struggling with as well as identifying skills to practice on a daily basis. I believe for some, processing the past is important, but I also believe it’s important for clients to walk away from the session with an action they can take in real-time.

I know starting something new can be overwhelming at times. However, with support and putting in the work, the healing can begin.

It’s time to stop surviving and start THRIVING!

Rachel has been amazing to work with! It has only been a few weeks and I already feel a difference. The exercises and tools she has given me have been really helpful and I’m feeling really encouraged by the process!
