Hello, my name is Rebecca! I am so glad that you have found time to read my page.
Receiving counseling services myself in the past, I know how important it is to choose the right counselor, the right therapist. It is important to know their values, set of beliefs, and to become familiar with how they work. As a Christian, I know that for me personally, it was important to have a counselor with a faith similar to mine. I have experience discussing faith in counseling sessions, while I also have experience mentoring brothers and sisters in different congregations.
As a counselor, it is important to identify the tools needed to address each individual and the issues that they face in that given moment. It is important to acknowledge and understand that we are relational people, and we often times will need people to help resolve the issues that we face in life.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California. I received my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Redlands in 2015. I have experience working with trauma, depression, adjustment disorders, anxiety and working through family conflict. I have worked through providing family therapy using Systems Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, while employing Emotion-Focused Therapy as well. When appropriate, I also apply Cognitive Behavior Therapy, according to the client's needs. I also have experience working through relational therapy as well, specifically Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. I believe that counseling is different for every individual, and that there needs to be space to maintain a collaborative approach to reap all the potential benefits of counseling. In counseling, I focus on faith as a strength and resource, and hope that with each other, we can highlight the benefits of faith.
If you feel that we would be a good "match", I look forward to getting to know you more!
