About Me

I am an individual and family therapist licensed in the state of Illinois, with over 18 years of experience having worked as a counselor in community mental health and as a social worker in the hospice community. I have worked with a diverse group of clients, from young adults to the elderly, all who have presented with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship and family, life adjustment, loss and grief, death and dying and the special needs of the elderly. I have helped clients who have experienced the challenges of emotional abuse, lack of a support system and those facing life changing situations.

My consideration for the well-being of others is evident in my counseling style. I believe that everyone is capable of reaching their potential in life. My compassion and ability to empathize, as well as guide, is always at the center of my work with clients. My approach is holistic and integrative, offering many types of strength- and evidenced- based therapy- from client-centered and cognitive behavioral to positive psychology therapies. Because everyone is unique, I work closely with a client on an approach most fitting to promote his or her sense of wellness.

I have genuine regard for all who have the courage to bring their life concerns into a therapeutic setting. My goal is to empower clients and assist them in building skills, not only to help them through difficult challenges, but to also help them to make changes that will last a lifetime.

My experience and offering does not end with this. With a strong educational foundation and almost two decades in the field as a professional, I have brough life experience and my own healing to my work. Faith in the Word has been at the core of all that I do. I have been inspired to facilitate church groups for many years and to teach Bible School. I established a women’s ministry at Benedictine University, facilitating a group based on a book written by popular Christian music artist, Kathy Trocolli, “My Life is in Your Hands.” My own ongoing faith-based therapy and weekly church groups have also centered me as a person.
So if you are a person of faith, I am ready to share that faith with you as you take the steps necessary to improve your life.

I believe that "with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).
