My name is Robert Bennett and I am a Christian counselor. All the counseling that I do is heavily influenced by my faith. I have been a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, "AACC " almost since its iI am a Board Certified Christian Professional Counselor. (BCCPC) through (AACC). I am also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor,(LCPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor, (NCC). In addition to the above credentials, I am a Licensed School Psychologist in Illinois with over 30 years of experience.
For 10 years I was the director of " Safe Harbor Chicago North, '" a Christian Counseling Agency. In addition to my direct counseling, I supervised 4 counselors all of whom were Christian Counselors. As a "Christian Counselor in addition to what is typically referred to as Christian Counseling, I used a wide variety of counseling strategies, all of which were integrated with Christian Counseling. Anger management, relaxation techniques, cognitive-behavioral counseling, reflective listening, empathic listening, and unconditional acceptance are some examples.
In my Christian walk, I have been commissioned as a Community Service Chaplain, I have done volunteer work for Christian gang outreach, I worked as a volunteer Chaplain for a local fire department. I have conducted bible studies as part of a jail ministry, I have volunteered for PADS, and done volunteer work for Love Inc. I have also been a youth group volunteer worker. My faith is the most important thing in my life. Although, I must admit that you could not always tell that by my behavior. However, by God's grace, I am forgiven. I meditate on scripture, I memorize it (I have committed three entire books in the Bible to memory). My wife and I attend church most Sundays, we have been members of a small group and have been leaders. Just one other thought, I believe that the Bible is truthful, I believe that the Bible is the living Word of God. I also believe Romans 8:28 " And we know that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. " Even today with all the turmoil on Earth, when we truly believe in this verse we can experience peace in Christ. I am an older person and for that reason, alone, I am a member of a high-risk group, besides that, like what so many people are experiencing, I am finding the stay-at-home restriction to be very difficult, while I find remaining at home to be very difficult, I do believe that it is of extreme importance that we take the strong recommendations from multiple agencies and follow them to the best of my ability I am including considerable detail in this initial message because I want to erase any doubts from your mind regarding if my faith in God is real.

I was skeptical at first for having Robert as a Therapist since I didn't want to have a male therapist because of my traumas and so forth. Overall he is very caring and understanding. I feel heard during our therapy sessions and not judged for my past and etc. He is a very nice kind hearted therapist and I am glad that faithful counseling paired me up with him even though I was reluctant at first. I always feel so much better after our therapy session. You won't regret it!
My sessions with Robert have helped me realize where some of my struggles in life are coming from and he have given me ways in which to sort through and deal with them. I would recommend him!
Robert does a good job of listening and helping me explore my behaviors and emotions in a way that feels comfortable. He did a good job of making me feel like I could share and that what I’m dealing with can be worked on in a manageable way. He’s been very helpful!
