About me
My name is Sally. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I utilize a holistic approach inclusive of Christian Counseling when requested. I consider my job as a calling and feel honored that you have considered me as a possibility to serve you.
My background includes various therapeutic settings that include residential and intensive outpatient treatment, school-based health centers conveniently located on middle and high school campuses and previously owned a private practice (outpatient treatment) in Goldsboro, NC. Throughout my career of 26+years, I have had the honor to serve clients with depression, anxiety/stress, substance abuse, emotional abuse, relationship issues, ADHD, trauma and career difficulties.
Currently, I live in Goldsboro, NC. Formerly, I resided in Las Vegas, NV (8 years) where I worked as a case manager and vocational rehabilitation counselor. I returned to my home state of NC and earned 3 Master Degrees from East Carolina University in Substance Abuse Clinical Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling and Vocational Evaluation. My undergraduate degree is in Sociology from Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC.
My counseling style is warm and down to earth. I am a good listener and believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect. I am sensitive, compassionate and non-judgmental. Just the fact that you are reading this and reached out demonstrates courage and a desire to change! You have taken the first step towards a more fulfilling as well as an empowering life! A desire to change takes time, patience and hard work. If you are willing to do the work, just know I am here to support you on your journey!
My counseling theories are eclectic and include: person-center therapy because you are the expert in your life; my focus will be with your desired and achievable goals; cognitive behavior therapy to change the automatic negative thoughts and promote self-awareness that "stinking thinking" can be changed to positive, truthful self-talk that produces an improved mood; solution focus therapy that focuses on building current resources and future hopes and gestalt therapy (empty chair technique) for unfinished business and unresolved questions.
I can interact with you as to what you are most comfortable. To develop a rapport, I have found it helpful to participate in video sessions. But I am also available via phone if that is your preference. I try to check my messages periodically throughout the day but it depends upon my schedule. Rest assured, I will respond and get back with you ASAP!
On a personal note, in my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening, painting and being around nature. I also do rescue work with animals (cats and dogs) to assist them with needed medical care and placement in their "furever" home. I am a "people person" and enjoy having friends from various cultures. I previously taught Sunday School classes to adults and children at my church (Madison Avenue Baptist Church) for many years.
I know this was probably a difficult decision for you. Just the fact that you reached out and asked for help was courageous! It takes strength to ask for help! Congratulations on making a positive change in your life! Thank you for the opportunity to possibly serve you in your journey! I am looking forward to hearing from you in the near future!

Sally is great at balancing clinical advice with Christian wisdom.
Sally has come along side me in one of the hardest points in my life to date. She’s consistently point me to truth and is respectful of my fears and anxieties. She never dismissed my concerns and is always up for discussing what’s on my mind. Sally has been instrumental in my growth and awareness of how I carry emotions. Literally a 10/10, I feel safe with Sally!
Sally has been such a blessing to me. She is knowledgeable, firm, and kind. She has helped me immeasurably through therapy this year. I would highly recommend her.
Sally is caring and supportive understanding what is going on in my life. She does a good job of balancing the science with religion to provide a comprehensive approach to counseling.
I have already recommended FC yo others
Sally is a great therapist. She gives great biblical advice that will help you if you follow it. She has a great heart and truly cares.
Sally was warm and kind. She was easy to talk to. She offered really good advice and was extremely helpful. I left our sessions feeling heard and given things to focus on for the week. She incorporated God and His word in our sessions and it made these sessions that much more healing.
Best therapist I’ve ever had! I couldn’t think of going with anyone else ❤️
I’m so thankful for Sally Grant! She is a huge blessing to me. Sally is a well read and studied, experienced therapist. She has a wide variety of experience that she uses skillfully with her patients. Sally is kind and respectful . She’s a safe person for those of us who have been traumatized in one way or another.
Sally has been such a wonderful therapist to work with. She is extremely uplifting and kind, and has created such a safe space to share in. She has helped me learn coping techniques to use myself and she has helped me get to a point where I am ready to stop therapy for the time being and made me equipped to handle things on my own. She has been attentive to all of my concerns and validated my feelings and experiences. I could not recommend her enough.
Sally has been wonderful. She listens, offers sage advice and is very thoughtful in her words. She has been extremely encouraging which has helped me immensely.
She is a great therapist who cares and listens.
Miss Grant has listened and helped me throughout the entire time I have been meeting with her, she has taught me effective techniques, which has improved my emotional and mental health.
I am so thankful for Sally. She is genuine, professional yet personal. She has so much insight and knowledge. And in the 2 weeks I’ve met with her she has helped me begin overcoming negative mindsets and thinking. Extremely and forever grateful!
Highly compassionate and competent, she is a great example of what a professional therapist should look like in action. Couldn't be happier with my results so far, the depressive symptoms I started seeing her for have lessened drastically because of her help.
I find Sally Grant to be personable but also professional. I appreciate her expertise as a counselor and also an addition counselor. We’ve only had a couple of sessions so far but I feel that she is helping me emotionally even at this early stage in our relationship,
Sally is so wonderful. She has a great spirit and she has helped me change my thoughts into positive ones. I am truly thankful for her.
Sally is a compassionate counselor who listens and responds with useful tools and feedback. With Sally’s help, I have been able to uncover many deep-seated beliefs and negative thoughts, and shift my thinking through positive affirmations and mind-body exercises. Name it, claim it, and tame it!
It’s been good. I feel comfortable talking to her. I always feel better after we have talked.
We’ve yet to have a video session yet (all on me), but her spirit is so sweet! I love that she values relationship and allows that to be the lead in her clinical work. She’s amazing
She is excellent and helpful!
