About Me

Hello! You have issues that you need to face, and you would like to do that in a way that is centered in Christ. You would also like to do that with another Christian. I’m here to help. In Christ, God has bound himself to humanity, and to the believer in a personal way through the promise of his Word. You are not going through your challenges alone. If you are seeking counseling to resolve a challenge, psychotherapy to heal a wound, or direction to discern the prompting of the Spirit, God is indeed present to accept, attend, and aid you on your journey of faith. It is my privilege as one trained in theology and psychology to assist you and support your goals of spiritual and mental wholeness and well-being.

I have an undergraduate degree in Biblical Counseling and a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I have extensive experience working as a Christian Counselor in many churches and in many ministries. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental health Service Provider in TN with over 13 years post graduate clinical experience working with a wide range of clients ranging in age from infant through geriatric and over 20 years before that, working as a Christian Counselor. I believe in treating every person with respect and dignity. My approach is honest and open minded, seeing the counseling process as a collaborative process between myself and clients. This collaboration is based on the establishment of a safe and trusting relationship between counselor and client. From this foundation, we are able to explore social, emotional, and behavioral patterns so as to better understand the obstacles that are holding you back from living a full and meaningful life. I see it as my job to provide you with both support and challenge as you engage in the task of facing and addressing those obstacles.

My approach to psychotherapy is integrative and focuses on the therapy relationship, incorporating prayer, God's Word, self-acceptance, development of coping skills, and repairing relationships. I draw from many approaches, including evidence-based practices such as person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Child-parent psychotherapy, all filtered through the truth of the Bible. Over the years, I have found a therapeutic style that feels genuine and organic for me. Clients typically appreciate my genuine compassion, authenticity, safety, and humor.

Counseling takes courage and I'm so glad you're here!

Sandra has been a tremendous support in helping me process what I am going through. I appreciate how she works with me in ways that I respond well to.

Sandra is a gift of God in my life. I was living with a lot of untruths and she helped me not just see the untruths but live in truth in Christ. When I first came to counseling I was lost in a pit of despair. She helped me climb OUT!! I am so grateful for her help in my life at just the right time. She has been God's gift to me.
