About me

Hello, and welcome to the new wave of support in the digital age. Great work in taking the first step to find a provider who will fit your needs and beliefs. My name is Sarah Watt, and I am a licensed mental health counselor, certified clinical trauma professional, and a certified sex addiction counselor. Counseling was not always the dream I had for my future however, it was my calling and God's gift and purpose for me. People are often called to be many different things in one lifetime, but I always go back to my core: counselor, mentor, coach, and supporter. If you are looking for someone to be there along-side in this journey we call life, I am it!

I began my career in Northeast Ohio first volunteering and then taking this into my studies. I received a bachelor's degree in sociology in 2003 and a master's degree in counseling in 2007 through John Carroll University. My love of volunteering was fostered in my faith upbringing where I learned that giving back helps to build esteem both in self and others. Following this, my family suffered a loss, so I relocated to Florida to be there to support them and navigate my own questions and doubts towards God. Beautifully enough, I have since started a family of my own and planted roots personally and professionally all in God's own vision for my life. I was blessed to open a small private practice in 2017 which has helped many suffering from dissociative disorders, relationship issues, trauma, and addictions issues.

My background in the field after 15 years is very diverse from inpatient hospital settings, community mental health work, residential treatment, in-school therapy, to an outpatient work setting. My heart has always been invested in helping people to lift themselves out of the worst of life circumstances or merely learn to love the life they are living and fully. I have found God's presence to often be a strong part of how we survive our difficulties and challenges. In my own recovery and therapy I have also very often turned to my faith to help guide me and feel honored to be able to do the same for you all.

My approaches to helping include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness-based practices, client centered therapy, solutions focused, relational recovery, trauma processing and attachment healing. My specialties include anxiety, depression, sex and love addiction, trauma, phase of life changes, sexual orientation and lifestyle issues, relationship and infidelity concerns, dissociative disorders, and addictions.

Sar is very engaging and listens well. She made me feel comfortable and also gave me a lot of information to help me understand my situation better.

Work with me!
