About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri with 5 years of experience in providing direct mental health and behavioral counseling. I have worked with children, adults, and families in a variety of settings and for a myriad of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, parenting, anger management, community violence, phase-of-life problems, relationship issues, and family issues. I am passionate about helping people feel connected and whole and in helping to build skills aimed at conquering the challenges of life. I approach the therapeutic relationship with sensitivity towards you and your experience, a focus on what you desire from our time together, and respect for multi/cross-cultural factors and influence.

I have experience providing therapy in a variety of settings including individual (office and home settings), group therapy, and family therapy. I also have experience providing individual therapy in the virtual setting. My experience is varied and is comprised of work in social service settings, residential care settings, and includes 13 years of quality improvement work in behavioral health. Therefore my therapeutic approach, though based on client-centered therapy and trauma-focused therapy, is also influenced by Cognitive behavioral therapy and systems theory.

The decision to engage in therapy is an important one and choosing a therapist that can meet your needs is a critical one. If you are looking for a therapist that is laid back, yet goal-oriented, and supportive, yet challenging; I am the therapist for you. Let’s Get Started!

Sarita has an awesome calm energy that allows you to see what you’re going through in an objective and “of course you’re feeling like that” type of way. She also never lets the ball drop. If she senses a silence coming on, she’ll pick it up with a relevant question to keep the conversation flowing. She’s a lovely spirit and comes through with always understanding.

Sarita is calm and positive and never made me feel like I was dramatic or irrational. She helped me attach my feelings to my body and identify what triggers me. She helped me to feel not selfish for taking time out from my family to process things but was encouraging and always asked good follow up questions the following session. I highly recommend her ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For personal reasons, I have only hat 'Chat' counselling sessions with Sarita, but I have found Sarita to take the time to understand my concerns.
I appreciate that she keeps me focused on the overall goal of healing, and at the same time being very present with the "today's concern"
She is very diligent about sending daily inspirations that fit my healing process, but also respects me when I have not asked her to send any for a while because I am still trying to process what she has already sent.
When I write a personal message, she takes the time to respond promptly.
Overall, I am VERY pleased with Sarita's Knowledge, professionalism, and above all her care in wanting to understand and help.

Sarita has been so kind and supportive during a time when I was struggling. She took the time to understand my concerns and taught me methods to work through my issues. She gently reminded me of the things that can help and shares my Christian faith. She is so easy to talk to and caring which makes her very effective in what she does. I'm extremely grateful I got to work with her.
