Prior starting my therapist career, I was the vice president of my Christian college group. I was devoted to help people get closer to God and I am continuing helping others and myself continue build a relationship with God during difficult times. I started my therapist career as a graduate intern for a substance abuse clinic in south Florida. The passion I had to help people in addictions drove me to help other populations. I moved back to my home state of New York to complete my Masters in Social Work at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2014. I was fortunate enough to work with people in Prisons, Child Welfare, and Crisis Center. The people I have treated were people with anxiety, depression, anger, and people transitioning in new stages of their life. I work in both New York and in Florida, but I am currently living in Orlando, Florida as a contract therapist working with people in multiple populations.
I have worked with most populations, but my main focused are people in crisis. Half of my career are working with people that it is in highest level of stress and find ways to help them get back to stability. I have helped adults that suffered loss of a love one. I have treated clients with transitioning new stages of their life, such as retirement, graduation, new home, illnesses, birth of a child, and death of a love one. Those situations can be daunting for people, so anxiety and depression are common for people to deal with in these situations. Unfortunately, we will face most of these stressors in our lives, but I do have good news about it.
Fortunately, these situations can be resolve. It can be difficult to handle it by yourself. It can be even more difficult without the proper tools to help with coping these situations. Therefore, therapy can be very beneficial in addressing these problems. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida and my focus is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help resolve these problems. I will help develop a plan of action to help address the issues. I will help resolve the cognitive distortions that is hindering you. Unfortunately, with Covid-19 (Coronavirus), anxiety and depression have increases tremendously, due to the frequent deaths, isolation, job losses, and other factors from the pandemic. CBT will help with coping these situations and I am here to help
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
