About Me

Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking a few moments to read about me. Whether you work with me or another therapist, I truly hope you find the help you are looking for. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have a B.A from Texas A&M in Psychology and a M.A. from Denver Seminary in Community Counseling. I have over 9 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults with varying backgrounds. I have spent the past 6 years working in my church's counseling center working with individuals in all stages of faith. The majority of my experience is working with depression, anxiety, parent-child relationships, self-esteem, body image issues, and identity issues.

I became a follower of Christ at a young age and was fortunate to be raised in a Godly home. Despite any difficulties or poor decisions I've made throughout life, God has and will always remain faithful. In college I felt God calling me to become a counselor which led me to pursue my counseling degree at Denver Seminary. It is very important to me to be able to integrate my faith into my counseling. I feel honored that God chooses to use me to help people who are hurting.

My faith as a Christian directly impacts the way I view counseling. As a Christian, I believe that God is the only true healer. I work to include Biblical truths in my counseling and enjoy working with my clients on ways to incorporate these truths into their daily lives. I enjoy discovering more about my clients' spiritual lives and their personal relationship with Jesus. Sometimes when we are struggling with issues in our personal lives it can feel like God is distant or unresponsive. I am here to be a listening ear and help you navigate these feelings while also pointing you towards the truth.

In addition to incorporating spiritual truths, I also utilize clinical techniques to help my clients. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches that incorporate cognitive-behavioral and solution focused techniques. The most important aspect of my work with you will be to build a positive, trusting therapeutic relationship in which we can together work through whatever difficulties you may be facing. I believe in setting collaborative goals with my clients to help them with their areas of need, while also empowering them to use their God-given strengths to overcome difficulties.

Whether you feel completely overwhelmed by life or are just looking for some support , things can get better as long as you are willing to take that first step towards getting help! There is always hope in Christ.

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." -Hebrews 10:23
