About Me

Maybe you stumbled here hoping someone would understand the trials you're going through. Are you at your wit's end with your spouse? Does life feel like you're "swimming in molasses"? Let me help. I'm here to listen, ask the right questions, and let you strategize a course of action.
I have a special place in my heart for couples going through rough times because of communication breakdown or betrayal of trust (because of infidelity, porn addiction, or anger/abuse issues).
I've been a counselor for 6 years and still operate in private practice in Georgia. I operate from an integrated approach of blending the best-researched practices of psychology with my Christian faith. I'm not here to take sides but to help you as a couple to "be on the same team." I borrow heavily from resources by Milan and Kay Yerkovich, John Gottman, Harville Hendrix, and Mark Gungor. I've been married 40 years to my lovely wife, and have three grown children (but no grandkids!!). If it weren't for the Lord's love, direction, grace, and forgiveness, I don't know how our -- or any -- marriage would last.

Reviews

Written by B.R. on Nov 19, 2020 after counseling with Steve for 2 weeks

I've only had 2 sessions with Steve and haven't yet reached out via messager, but hes a very kind guy. I like that he's got a Christian perspective too and that we can talk about God. I like that he doesn't just listen to me like other counselors I've had before, but offers suggestions and healthy tips.
