I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with an earned Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and Doctoral Degree in Educational Psychology. I’ve worked in a variety of professional settings to include: Law Enforcement, Academia, and Military environments. My education and work experience has developed within me a professional value system founded on a strong belief and adherence to the principles of Multiculturalism, Empathy, and Fairness!
Rooted and grounded in my Mental Health practice are “Spiritual Truths” such as Honesty, Faithfulness, and Forgiveness which I believe to be essential guiding principles of individual and couple’s treatment success. What I’ve discovered in my several years of practicing Spiritual-Based mental health treatment has been when there is a sever absence of the presence of God’s guiding principles; individuals seeking truth and understanding most often will find themselves fatigue by the challenges of life. A sustaining “REST” (A peace that passes all understanding…) from the fatigue that life is often known to permeate can only be resolved by the restorative and redemptive power of God’s principles being revitalized within the life of a Christian.
As a Mental Health professional, it’s not only my professional obligation, but also my “Life’s Purpose” to be a Spiritually Revitalizing Salvific Force within the lives of Christians. Brief-Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Client-Centered therapeutic approaches in concert with the Bible are the intervention tools I find most effective when addressing marriage, family, parenting, and self-development spiritual concerns. In addition, Active Listening, Clarification Questions, and Empathy will be frequently utilized counseling skills to help in identifying client concerns, aspirations, and strategies for helping you reach your immediate and long-term goals! In as much, please always remember, “I AM HERE FOR YOU”! And God be with you!
