About Me

Hello! Thank you for your interest in allowing me to assist you! I am grateful for this opportunity to be of service. I was licensed in April, 2017 as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the state of Oklahoma, and have been practicing for 6 years with a community mental health agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma. However, in late March, 2021, I decided to take a break from community mental health work and have been working full time with BetterHelp since that time.

My post graduate education was from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma and my under graduate degree was obtained from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I chose these two universities as they best aligned with my spiritual beliefs and values. My Christian heritage is important to me and if allowed, I will happily share my faith with you. Of course, that is up to you, the client, as I would never push my spiritual beliefs on anyone. My clients are of a variety of different faiths and religions, and I believe your faith is your personal preference and does not enter into the counseling room, unless it is invited.

I have a variety of clients from all ages, races, and religions and my experiences are mostly in the areas of trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, Autsim, grief, loss, abuse and neglect. I practice from the following modalities: CBT, TFCBT, Play Therapy, and DBT and I usually begin from an attachment based theory. Many of my clients experience difficulty due to ruptured attachments from primary caregiver relationships so understanding that attachment is at the root of many of the difficulties they are facing, often brings relief.

Thank you again for considering me as your therapist. I look forward to working with you as you seek God for answers and healing.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Renee Goughler. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Faithful Counseling might be different.

Renee is a great person. The short time I have had with her has been very helpful. She is strong in her christian values and morals. She doesn’t give an answer unless she has all information on it. She is good at what she does.

Renee is a very kind and personable counselor! She understands and asks the right questions. It always feels like I am talking to a friend, like I have known her for years and not months!

Work with me!
