As a licensed clinical therapist for 12+ years, I have the experience, expertise and training to work with a wide variety of individuals with complex issues. I grew up in a Christian home and have been a practicing Christian all my life. My faith is important to me. I often refer to the Bible and make biblical references and share appropriate accounts from the Bible when therapeutically indicated.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach to counseling is eclectic in nature drawing from multiple modalities such as: cognitive-behavioral, trauma focused, dialectical behavioral, solution-focused and client-centered approaches. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
I provide a safe therapeutic environment of confidentiality which builds trust, openness and understanding. Clients who engage in the counseling process discover a new energy for life and relationships. This results in positive change and increased self-awareness.
In sessions, I focus on giving sound guidance and counsel, on asking clarifying questions, on making observations and will readily share my opinion based upon the information provided by my clients. Clients often express feeling comfortable working with me, and often refer me to their family, friends and co-workers.
I’m also a certified therapist for trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy with a strong work history in this area.
It takes courage to seek personal growth for a fulfilling and happy life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
