Thomas Shoffner

About Me

I am a Marriage and Family Counselor that is presently licensed in Mississippi and Pennsylvania. I have roughly 6 years of experience in the mental health field that ranges from inpatient to community mental health to private practice. This has allowed me to work with a variety of diagnosis that include ADHD, Autism, ODD, DMDD, PMDD, PTSD, and many others.

My counseling style tends to be geared towards welcoming and making clients feel at ease. This way, you feel comfortable and therapy does not come across as being a scary unknown. Counseling modalities that I utilize include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Gestalt, Person-Centered, and a few others. Recently, I finished a class on implementing the use of Family Systems Trauma (FST) by Dr. Scott Sells.

My ultimate goal is to help you reach a healthier version of yourself and not feel guilty for what you are facing.

I look forward to helping you along your therapy journey.

Though I was nervous to start, Thomas immediately put me at ease about counseling. He was ready to meet me where I was mentally and emotionally and always asks the right questions to uncover the root of my struggles. He implements truth from Scripture into his counseling in very practical ways. I appreciate his easy-going nature and have never felt intimidated to open up. He has helped me learn about my personal triggers and warning signs of anxiety as well as coping mechanisms to get me through my hardest times. Thomas is an awesome counselor and somebody that I highly trust and respect!
