About me

I graduated from Western Michigan University’s Counseling Psychology program with a Masters degree in 2015. I believe all people generally have the resources to help themselves, yet sometimes need a safe, trustworthy professional to work through issues, identify goals, make healthy decisions and take the steps necessary to work through problems and live life more fully. I use an integrative and holistic approach that draws largely from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Theories. I recognize and respect the fact that individuals have widely varying perspectives and needs, and strive to remain as objective, warm and helpful as I can be.

I specialize in working with teens, adults and couples dealing with issues that are taking away from their ability to live out the lives they desire. These issues vary widely, but generally include things like depression, anxiety, stress, parenting issues, marriage/relationship problems and more. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible and meet you right where you’re at in order to connect, build trust and work together on whatever issue or goal you’re coming to me for help with. Lastly, I’m flexible with how we meet, be it messaging, phone or video. Whatever works best for you!

I have already seen positive changes in my life and lessons learned. So thankful for Tyler to push me to handle situations better and to even listen better and make better decisions while still being okay for having the feelings I have

I have struggled all my life with mental illness. I tried counseling before, and it just felt like I was talking to a friend, but not getting any constructive feedback on how to learn to cope and manage my mental illness. Tyler has given me clear information on techniques, goals, and a plan of care as we work through things. He has given me hope that I might finally be able to no longer be a victim of my mental illness. Thank you. I am most grateful and look forward to continue to work with Tyler.
