About Me

I am Valerie Larkin; a Licensed Profession Counselor in the State of Georgia. I have worked been a Christian for over 25 years, and believe that a relationship with Christ makes for a better relationship with self and others. I begin serving in faith-based organizations a year after becoming a Christian. I have also served in the public school system as a Parent Liaison, Educator and Mental Health Profession for over 20 years. One of my areas of strength in Mental Health include working with individuals and couples through anxiety, depression, feelings of worthlessness, trauma related concerns and that struggle with communication. My approach is to reach the individuals and families at their point of need through person-centered and cognitive behavioral approach (i.e., reframe negative thought patterns to more healthy ones) . My goal as a therapist is to assist the expert, yourself, with the building and healing process, so that yourself and relationships can reach its fullest potential. My motto is, "To help make families whole." Families are made whole as individuals are made whole.

Written by M.I. on Jan 05, 2022 after therapy with Valerie for 2 weeks

Valerie has suggested things that will help us with our problems. She listens and ask questions that help us to respond to each other and open lines of communication between us. She has not been judgmental toward either side. It has been very nice to talk to someone that seems to really want to help us. I think with her help that we will make it through this difficult time.
