About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a doctorate degree in counseling. My dedication to the counseling and mental health profession spans over 27 years. Populations served include children, adults, and families. If you are looking for support in coping with anxiety, anger, grief, loss, spiritual and relationship issues I am available and committed to helping individuals in a telehealth environment. My therapeutic philosophy is Humanistic and my therapeutic approach is Person-Centered. I am an empathic listener and I believe that each client is the expert storyteller of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My strategy to therapy is to focus on the clients’ strengths and work towards minimizing the havoc and chaos that stress and trauma impacts on their day to day world. My theoretical orientation is a combination of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focus Therapy. The goal of therapy is to help clients experience a desired development growth as they travel a journey toward making healthy choices. I believe that counseling is an art that educates and builds self-confidence.

Dr. Burnett is a wonderful counselor! She is a compassionate and active listener, who provides useful and beneficial tips and resources for helping me with the troublesome events in my life. Dr. Burnett is very knowledgeable and has been incredibly helpful in working with me through my anxiety-related issues. I have really enjoyed having Dr. Burnett as my counselor!

Thus far I've had two sessions with Dr. Burnett. She is attentive, listens, and writes notes, Dr. Burnett also asks questions to ensure my thought processes are realistic logical and according to the word of God.
