My name is Wendy Eddy. I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with over twenty years of experience. I look forward to working with you and helping you on your journey.
Let me tell you a little about myself. My counseling philosophy comes from a quote by Leo Buscalia: “Counseling…Certainly this is what counseling is; A process not of my wanting to make you over in my own image, as I would desire you; but, my wanting to lead you back …to yourself, to what you are, to your uniqueness, to your original beauty.”
I have worked with various populations, from preschool children, to adolescents, to young adults, to older adults. I believe that you are the driver on your journey of life. Sometimes we get off that path and just need a little help to get refocused and be the driver again. I believe that counseling works best from the team approach, working together for the best end results: getting you back on the path you chose for your journey. I use various techniques during therapy where you identify the struggles and I help you figure them out. It is not my place as your therapist to tell you what to do. My role in the team approach is to help you identify and explore your options. I’ll meet you where you are and build on your strengths and resources. Therapy isn’t always easy. My role as your therapist is to ask those difficult questions and push you a little but never to disrespect where you are. I give you permission to tell me when I’m pushing a little too hard and we’ll process at that point.
I look forward to meeting you and working together as a team to get you where you want to be.
