Hello and Welcome,
Thank you for reaching out for help and support. You have already taken the first step to feeling better by engaging in the therapeutic counseling process. Many times, meeting with a therapist or being in counseling for the first time can be stressful. I hope to put you at ease if this is the case. I provide a safe, caring, non-judgmental space to process your concerns and move forward in a positive direction. If you have been in therapy before, welcome back. Building trust in a therapeutic relationship is the highest priority for me. I feel honored and humbled when clients let me into their world.
In the counseling relationship you will find you do not have to be alone in your struggles. You deserve the very best that life has to offer and you are certainly able to attain a happy, healthy sense of well-being. Everything you need to increase your awareness and reach a healing state is already within you. I believe that you are the expert of you.
I graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Social Work. Throughout my 17 years of experience, one of my areas of expertise has been Christian Counseling. I am a Stephen Minister and feel very comfortable praying with clients and discussing their religious and spiritual needs. I provide individual, couple, and family therapy. I have an eclectic approach that integrates Imago and Solution Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy.
My expertise includes:
Childhood sexual abuse
Effective communication skills
I firmly believe that if you have faith you have hope. I will meet you where you are at and help you make sense of your experiences. I will help you better understand who you are and figure out how to change the things that are keeping you stuck. I would welcome the opportunity to help you explore your concerns and share some tools and techniques to help you navigate your path forward.
