Growing up, the highlight of my year was a week at Bible camp. I could recite the Roman Road of Salvation as well as anyone but the image of our heavenly Father was formed in the image of my narcissistic earthly father and nothing I did was ever good enough for either father—or so it seemed.
In trying to “work out my salvation with fear and trembling,” I graduated from seminary and was ordained in The United Methodist tradition where I served churches for ten years. I then earned a Doctor of Ministry degree and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. For the past ten years I have worked with individuals, families and couples exploring the relationship between faith and good mental health.
I have spent the last seven years helping dying folks make peace with their understandings of God, guilt, grace and forgiveness and I can help you too.
I bring a unique combination of skills: I have theological training, pastoral experience in serving congregations and am a fully licensed mental health professional with training in trauma therapies such as EMDR.
If you struggle to find God’s grace in your life, if you are having trouble sorting out reliable Christian witnesses to guide you or if you are held hostage by fear of God’s judgment, I can help. The fact that you are reading this page tells me you are on your first step to a deeper relationship with God.
Using Narrative, Collaborative and Solution-focused therapy approaches, I can help you on your journey to peace in your relationship with God.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Carol Poston. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Faithful Counseling might be different.
I feel she truly cares. She is very knowledgeable.
