I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I received my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Barry University, and my Master's Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Both universities provided a higher emphasis on Christian faith principles, so I have learned my art of counseling from a Christian-focused perspective. I have been a counselor for the past 10 years, and have developed expertise in the areas of process addictions (gambling, video games, etc.), relationship issues, task management / motivation / procrastination, academic struggles, and many sources of anxiety or depression people face in the regular flow of daily living. I am also a researcher in the Social Science field, and have contributed multiple publications on video game playing and online education if you are interested in knowing about my other work in the field of counseling. I provide counseling services for Individual, Couples, & Family needs, and am excited to work with my clients on issues that can lead to higher levels of satisfaction across all areas of life.
I am currently a graduate school professor in a Christian university hoping to emphasize the importance of faith in our day to day walk with Christ. Through this path, I have found that my approach can be tailored to the needs of my individual client. I have spent many years developing my ability to manage client conversations through the lenses of Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused / Brief, Mindfulness / Acceptance-Commitment, Existential / Person-Centered, and also Narrative therapies. My approach and treatment plans are always chosen based on the needs of the client I am talking to in those moments, so your goals will always be your own when you are working with me. We will work at your pace and decide together what the best path is for your specific journey.
I am excited to meet you and provide the support you are looking for to continue your life's journey!

Dr.K is a fantastic counselor! He is very flexible with styles of counseling and adjusts to what you need. He has a plethora of experience and tools to give his clients. He did a fabulous job creating a safe place to talk through personal struggles and concerns, while learning how to work through them with him. Working with him was a wonderful experience.
Dr. Kaufman has been extremely helpful so far. Dr. Kaufman has helped me to work through my own issues to find solutions of my own. Dr. Kaufman has helped me resolve every concern I've presented to him so far. I've worked with many counselors and psychologists. Dr. Kaufman is by far the best counseling experience I've ever had!
