I consider myself an eclectic, empathetic, faith based counselor that is person centered with a strength based, cognitive approach. I incorporate the use of art expression using: various art media, writing, relaxation, yoga, music, and mindfulness (the use of essential oils, vitamins and nutrition can also be discussed). Different media and their uses can be shown in email and in video chat.
I have many personal loss experiences which led me to this career and many years of experience as a hospice volunteer, grief and loss training, facilitating a young partner loss group, grief and loss groups using art expression, a guest blogger and artist for an online pregnancy loss support group, illustrated and co-wrote a Hospice of Lenawee grief journal, an artist, and a published poet.
The many life experiences that I have had, has only strengthened my faith. For me, dealing with many of the losses that I have had to endure, would have been impossible had I not believed that God was holding me up and carrying me across the sand as in the Footprints poem. Christians that I know all have their own unique relationship with God. I consider myself a spiritual person. Over the years I have learned that belonging to a brick and mortar church does not make you any more of a Christian, than a person who prays while walking in nature, reads their bible, or watches a televangelist service. Whichever you are, or if you consider yourself a spiritual but non-religious person, I hope that I can help you find your direction and calm.

Donna genuinely cares and you pick up on that from day 1. She could relate to me and was able to offer really great insight as to what I was going through.
