I believe that faith is something that is a positive tool to include with therapy, and in some ways a necessary one. There is really nothing that contradicts religion, spirituality, or faith with psychological therapeutic techniques or even 12 Step groups. I put all these aspects into my personal life to the best of my ability and have been doing so for the last 25 years of my life. This includes my becoming a practicing Christian in 2000. This is a huge reason why I even began doing what I love doing as a profession. To have the privilege and ability to influence others and help them on their journey, that being spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical, is the greatest gift I have been given in my life. I do believe that without a working faith in my life, I would not be anywhere near the person I am today or have the great possibilities that are present. My goal is to assist others on their own journey of healing, growing and gaining insight into their own life, so they can transform to the person they truly can be.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have been working as a Mental Health/Addictions Counselor since 2012. I specialize in Addictions and Mental Health issues and working with adults. I graduated from Troy University with a master’s in counseling and psychology in 2016. As well as being a fully licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida, I also hold certifications as a Nationally Certified Counselor and as a Certified Master's Level Addictions Professional.
For the years that I have been working as a therapist, I have developed a theoretical approach that is predominantly based on client-centered, solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy. Although I tend to lean to these approaches, I do consider myself to be eclectic, meaning that I will draw from different therapeutic approaches as needed for each individual client. I have an extensive amount of experience providing therapy in different environments to individuals with a wide range of personal issues, including substance abuse/dual diagnosis, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, anger, self-esteem, grief, and family problems.
My focus as a therapist is to help individuals heal, energize, and get to the place where they can feel, think and act in the ways that they are searching for. I am also a spiritual individual that relishes helping clients develop a deeper spiritual connection, a more confident sense of themselves and their strengths.
I look forward to working with you, and I promise to be there for you every step of your journey.

James is amazing....he uses real world experiences to explain and empower me to problem solve myself. He has the true heart of A teacher and it shows in his patience and kindness.
Only had one session, but it corresponds to what I expected. James is engaging and a good listener, offering advice but also getting me to share. So far a good experience.
We have had two sessions so far and have already got deep into my issues and identified a plan to help me get the breakthrough I am looking for.
I am still in the very beginning stages of my counseling, but so far J. Malone has given me more insight, a couple new perspectives, and much food for thought! I am very appreciative of his knowledge and truthfulness. I believe only positive will come from our sessions and my growth!
All i can say is- Bless James! Its like it was divine intervention to reach out to someone during my lowest. James has been excellent and very empathetic, in every genuine way.
