About Dr. Jasmine Board DMFT LMFT
Jasmine Board was born in Los Angeles county and raised in Carson, CA . She has wanted to be apart of the mental health field since her high school Psychology class. Jasmine Board has participated in the NAMI WALKS since 2007. She has been working as a working as a therapist since 2014 and received her License in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2019. She received her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2013. She received her Masters’ degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, Irvine in 2015. She currently holds her Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University, Jasmine Board has held office positions such as Psychology club president and student advisor, MFTSO representative and treasurer, I-MERIT representative, and SAC DMFT representative until 2017. Jasmine Board has also taught Masters’ classes and clinically supervised Masters’ students.
Plus, she has participated in multiple mental health conferences such as AAMFT and NCFR from 2014 to 2019. Jasmine has six years experience in working in inpatient, outpatient, school, group homes, STRTP, residential programs, and hospital settings. Jasmine has a passion for working with the underserved populations such as the homeless, veterans, substance abuse, prisoners, foster care system, adolescents, and the severely mentally ill. Jasmine’s theoretical lens is a combination of Solution Focused therapy and Narrative therapy. She believes that its important to collaborate with different professionals and the clients to help increase the well being and progress of the client. She thinks its important to be an advocate for the clients and also help the client’s become advocates for themselves. Jasmine wants to be able to help the clients find what triggers them (Anxiety,Trauma, Depression, etc) and help them find peace and other solutions to overcome any mental health issues.
