My name is Malinda Myers, LCSW. I have been doing therapy for 10 years. I love what I do, and I practice what I preach! I believe in mindfulness and gratitude and riding the waves of our lives with grace. I believe we are loved by God, despite ourselves. I believe there is grace and forgiveness, and that the sooner we get to allowing that to come in, the sooner we get to healing. And the sooner we get to healing, the sooner we get to bringing our unique light of God into the world. I feel called to do the work I do, and rely on God for strength and guidance.
I started working with the homeless population early in my career and developed a deep understanding of poverty and trauma. This spurred my further training in trauma, which lead to understanding the impact of high levels of stress on our bodies, and functioning. I was also trained in dialectical behavior therapy, which helped me understand that when people get stuck, they are not being difficult or manipulative, they just need to learn some skills to navigate life.
I work to create a supportive and challenging environment. I am very much a behavioral therapist. This means I work hard to not only process your difficulties with compassion, but also help you make meaningful change in your behaviors. This is often a component I feel is missing from therapy. It’s one thing to know what to do, and it’s another to be able to apply it to your life in a sustainable way. Learning how to take small steps towards your goals and find ways to recallibrating when things go sideways is just as essential as developing an understanding of what makes you do what you do. I look forward to joining with you on this brave step you’ve taken to become yourself and to live life to the full in a vibrant, balanced way.

Very kind, empathetic, and thoughtful. She asks very helpful questions to help you explore the issue.
Malinda is kind and encouraging. She is reliably there for me and responsive. I think she has helped me to be more confident in being assertive when I have to be.
