I have worked with many individuals experiencing life adjustments, from relationship issues, spirituality, grief, divorce, and trauma.
My counseling style is warm, nonjudgmental, and interactive. I believe that every person is of value and should be treated with kindness and respect. My approach to treatment combines multiple theories, and modalities within the field of counseling and psychology, based upon individual goals and treatment needs.

The following is a Notice of Privacy Practices; necessary legal information I am required to share with you. Feel free to ask questions if you have any!
You must be 18 or older to participate in online counseling. A parent/guardian must authorize the participation of anyone under the age of 18 to participate in online counseling through Faithful Counseling or BetterHelp sites.
You agree to be counseled by Michele Chandler, M.A., LPC, CCTP, C-PD even if she is not licensed in your state of residence.
You are aware that any online counseling services are not a complete substitute for a face-to-face assessment and/or session by a licensed qualified professional. Due to the nature of the online platform, a diagnosis cannot be provided. Any diagnosis needed should come from a face-to-face assessment by a licensed qualified professional.
The online platform does not allow for emergency response, therefore if you have a crisis/emergency please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital. If you are thinking about suicide or if you are considering taking actions that may cause harm to you or to others, if you feel that you or any other person may be in any danger, or if you are having a medical emergency, you must immediately call 911 or the National Suicide Hotline Toll-Free Number at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). You acknowledge, confirm, and agree that the online platform used to communicate with Michele Chandler, M.A., LPC, CCTP, C-PD is not designed for use in any of the aforementioned cases and that you must not use the platform in any of the aforementioned cases.
You understand that there are potential risks and benefits associated with any form of counseling, and that despite your efforts and the efforts of Michele Chandler, M.A., LPC, CCTP, C-PD your condition may not improve, and in some cases may even get worse. Examples of benefits include but are not limited to improved emotional state, improved relationships, and improved communication skills.
Your Protected Health Information (PHI) is protected by state and federal law (HIPAA). This information can only be disclosed with your express written permission (via Release of Information Form) or as required or permitted by law. All our written communication is available to you on your personal electronic device to keep or share at your discretion. It is recommended that you keep this information/communication private and password protected if you copy or store it on your personal electronic device(s).
In general, I may not disclose any personal information without your permission, and I must protect and keep your information private. Any electronic device I use to access PHI is password protected to prevent unauthorized access.
How I may use and disclose health information about you:
Treatment: I may use your information to provide you with psychological treatment. I may share or disclose your PHI for the purpose of coordinating or managing your health care treatment. This may include consultation with other treatment team members. I may disclose PHI to any other consultant only with your authorization.
Use and Disclosures of PHI Not Requiring Consent or Authorization: There are a limited number of situations in which the law and ethical standards permit us to disclose information about you without consent or authorization. The types and usages are as follows:
Suspected child abuse, elder abuse or neglect must be reported.
A serious threat of physical violence against oneself or a reasonably identifiable victim or victims must be reported to law enforcement and/or the threatened person(s).
A court Order
Mandatory government agency audits or investigations
You have the right to withhold or withdraw consent at any time without affecting the right to future care or treatment or risking the loss or withdrawal of any program benefits to which you would otherwise be entitled.
You understand that while you may have used an anonymous name on the online platform and provided emergency contact details, this consent requires you to provide your identity in the form of your name, address, email, and phone number as well as an Emergency Contact person in case you need to be reached in an emergency. Your contact information will only be used in the case of an emergency. The emergency contact identified will only be contacted if I am concerned for your well-being and am unable to reach you by any other means.
You understand we are using a multimedia platform and that a technical support team supervises this platform and may therefore have access to your PHI. BetterHelp//faithfulCounseling has taken all precautions to protect your privacy and confidential information. The platform depends on various factors such as software, hardware, and tool, either our own or those owned and/or operated by our contractors and suppliers. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted or that it will be secure, consistent, timely or error-free. Michele Chandler, M.A., LPC, CCTP, C-PD or BetterHelp//Faithful Counseling is not responsible for communication via cell phones, chat, email, or fax. Precautions are used when utilizing these methods of communication. You will not hold Michele Chandler, M.A., LPC, CCTP, C-PD liable for any gathering or use of client information by these service providers.
In the event that information needs to be shared with a third party such as a medical or mental health professional in order to provide services to the client, a release of information form will need to be signed by the client and Michele Chandler, M.A., LPC, CCTP, C-PD
Services provided by Michele Chandler, M.A., LPC, CCTP, C-PD include one or more of the following: messaging, direct chat, video, and phone. The Client understands that the counseling process includes but is not limited to the practice of education, needs assessment, goal setting, accountability, referral to resources, problem solving, skills training, and help with decision making. These services are provided for the purpose of personal and/or professional development.
Office hours are Monday through Wednesday 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Thursday, Saturday, and late evenings by scheduled appointments only. For cancellations please give a minimum of 24-hour notice and/or abide by platform cancellation policies. As a contractor of Betterhelp, I have no connection to your subscription, payments, or insurance. Please contact support for assistance with all payment concerns.
Termination: If at any time you terminate your subscription, or terminate working with me, you may follow up with another therapist through Betterhelp by reaching out to support. Or contact your health insurance carrier by calling the customer service number located on the back of your insurance card.
