About Me

Proverbs 3:5-7 (NASB) says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." This is a passage that has led me throughout my life. I came to know God at a very young age. I recall attending church on occasion as a kid, but it wasn't until my young adolescent years that I felt the call on my life. I was the person that everyone confided in to share their problems and secrets. At first it was friends and family members. But when it started happening with strangers on the public bus I began to think I must have a sign on my back that reads 'I hear confessions...' God had gifted me with wisdom and insight that far exceeded my years. Later, as I graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters in Biblical Counseling, I knew I was on my way to living in my purpose and fulfilling my passion to see others reach their god-given potential. The path from 'hearing confessions' on the public bus to practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor, was riddled with obstacles and challenges that made me wonder if I was making the right decision. Through it all, I recalled the passage from Proverbs 3:5-7 and knew that God had a plan for my life and my only task was to trust Him. My mission is to use my extensive experience in mental health, as a bridge to empower and encourage people of faith to understand that in changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors we can change our lives. Using classic cognitive behavioral skills combined with sound guidance found in scripture, I aim to help people develop, transition, and grow into their authentic selves.

Michelle seems to be very professional. She makes herself available and is willing to adjust her time for me if necessary. She has always kept her appointments in a timely manner. She is very insightful and picks up quickly on the direction the counseling needs to go. She also has a good sense of humor. I would say you are fortunate if you get Michelle for a counselor.

Michelle has been amazing! She’s listened to every one of my concerns and addressed them. She’s given me tools to cope with some of my issues, and even reached out to me to make sure I was doing ok after some scary things were going on in the world that she knew may impact my well being. 10/10 recommend!!
