I am a subject matter expert in trauma informed care, harm reduction, strength based assessments and goal setting, solutions focused interviewing, and crisis interventions. I have experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, children experiencing trauma, caregiver fatigue, and adults experiencing trauma.
I am passionate about empowering women, youth, and families. My practice centers around the person in their environment, with an emphasis on social justice and the effects of systemic oppression. I advocate journaling and wholistic well-being practices which include self-care, collective well-being, mindfulness, meditation, prayer, self-love, and self-forgiveness to all as we are all created in the image of an ever loving God. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psycho education, psycho dynamic, and humanistic treatment approaches.
I am able to provide psychotherapy to youth, caregivers, or individuals who are experiencing traumatic life adjustments, substance use disorders, compassion fatigue, or dual diagnoses in an effort to empower them towards healthy symptom management and healing. I have a reputation for being genuine, direct, trustworthy, nonjudgmental, and easy to talk to.
