About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, educated at Fuller Theological Seminary with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also a Clinical Fellow with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and experienced counselor with over 15 years of experience in counseling working with a wide array of clients. As a Christian counselor trained in psychology’s best practices, including Gottman Therapy Level I & II, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Trauma/PTSD, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my clients.

My Christian faith is grounded in biblical principals and is coupled with professional trainings that ensure that my clients are served with the best research based interventions, advice, skills training, and support that leads to positive and amazing change. Using a variety of proven therapeutic methods, my clients address many issues and get incredible results. My goal is to help my clients find joy, freedom, and experience relationships filled with reconciliation, grace, forgiveness, trust, and restoration so they can go on to live amazing, faith-infused, positive, and satisfying relationships with God and others.

I would also like to mention that I am not "churchy". I'm pretty down to earth and a mature Christian who has weathered many storms in life. I have survived breast cancer, weathered a challenging divorce, endured the death of parent, and raised three children as a single parent. These challenges have grown my faith, my calling and my capacity to support and help others. As a result, I can honestly say that I became aware of how God draws close to those who are suffering. And, without those challenging winter seasons in life, I would not have the joy and peace that I have this day. God used those experiences to teach me how to sit with others going through painful and difficult seasons in life. He has given me the responsibility to walk with others in the storms. He has equipped me to hold an umbrella for my clients, and to hold the hope and promise that this too shall pass... it will work out. Storms don’t last forever. Eventually, they do pass…and when they do, I will celebrate with my clients that summer has arrived!

I'm really healing! I give thanks to God often for bringing me to Miss Berty. Her kindness, empathy, and willingness to take things at my pace is a blessed refreshment. It means the world to me how she's treated me from day one as a friend and a person rather than a just a paying patient. She is definitely in the right field of work. Thank you Miss Berty!

Berty has been amazing! I often think we are going to talk about one thing and we end up in a different direction that is more at the root of my problems. I am blown away by her perspective and insight as it has often not been what I would have expected. I feel like she is getting to the root of my struggles where I have spent far to long at the surface.
