About Me

Hello All,

My name is Shameka Clark-Savage and I was born and raised in Virginia. I completed my undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts & Education and Masters of Education in School/Community Counseling at Virginia State University. I accepted the Lord and Savior at the early age of 9 and have taken him in my heart and throughout my life. I believe in incorporating prayer in my daily routine for guidance and truly value having a relationship with God. I completed my internship providing outpatient therapy for a Christian Counseling organization entitled The Healing Trees. I also worked at The James House which is a safe haven for individuals who have experienced physical abuse or sexual trauma at any point in their lives. Throughout my counseling experience I've had the pleasure of working with individuals experiencing grief, depression, career changes, relationship concerns, and stress related issues. I've worked with individuals with diagnosis of Bipolar, Major Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and Schizophrenia. My strengths are I am very resourceful and really take pride in helping individuals access resources that most are not aware of.

My Therapeutic approach focuses on the cognitive behavioral approach. I thoroughly believe that if you can change the way that you think and approach a situation then you can change the behavior and outcome. I love when my clients are able to find the happy medium and able to function at their best potential possible. With the twists and turns of life you may find yourself having difficulties juggling it all or maintaining your sanity. Let me help you figure it out. whether we do it through prayer or through the reorganization of your thoughts. Your mental health is vital and I'm glad that you have taken the time to focus on your self-care. I look forward to working with you through your process. Trust God and Trust the Process. God Bless.

Shameka has been my weekly safe harbor to work through my anxieties, worries, and everything that 2020 has thrown my way. She’s both helpful and kind, listening to whatever I have to say with a professional ear that listens for what’s *really* going on. I’ve referred back to the tools she’s given me and feel better equipped to handle stress as it comes. Very appreciative of her help.

Shameka Clark-Savage is very responsive, intuitive, welcoming, knowledgeable and is an excellent listener. She clearly is an expert in her field. I appreciate the great recommendations that she provides that are both collaborative and simple. She has checked in on me to see how things are going after our scheduled session was over which is greatly appreciated.
