About me

I love to ask this question, “How long have you been thinking about seeing a Counselor?”. The answer is usually 6 months or longer. I can respect the hesitation you have to talk to someone about what’s going on in your life. It can be scary, but I encourage you to move forward with the following thoughts:
I expect to be heard and understood.
I expect a healthy challenge.
I expect to gain a different view of the world in front of me.
So hopefully you are ready to get started today. Let me tell you a little about me. My name is Tashua and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the beautiful state of Alabama. I earned a Master of Counseling Education in 2010 and a Master of Social Work in 2015. I have been in private practice since 2016. I would describe my counseling style as welcoming and relaxed
I use cognitive behavior therapy because your mind is powerful, but it can be filled with self-defeating thoughts. Left unaddressed, those thoughts can have you grounded in a defeated existence. I’ll help you become more aware of what your inner voice is telling you. We will work on overcoming doubt and move towards healthier self-talk.
I also use emotion-focused therapy which centers on identifying how you feel and your reactions when you have those feelings. My assignment is to listen to you and help you become more aware of new ways to respond to life.

Tashua has helped me through so much. For a long time I felt like I can never find a counselor that fit my needs and I was literally about to give up on trying to find a therapist and here she is. She's wonderful.

My counselor feel like she has all the answers. it is extremely helpful to be able to access her at any time on the go or when I need and not having to wait or do the extra office visits to talk to her. She has been very helpful in my journey and i'm thankful to have her.

Ms. Tashua has been so helpful. She was always kind, respectful, and helpful throughout our sessions. She guided me through a very painful loss in my life and gave me the tools I needed to continue my healing on my own. I would highly recommend her.
