About me

Hello, my name is Teral. I am a licensed mental health counselor with 12 years of experience helping people through some of life's most challenging moments. While I am a professional in my field, I recognize that you are the expert on you. My desire is to work with you to develop and meet your goals by first actively building the level of trust through active listening, unconditional positive regard, in a compassionate, supportive, and safe space. I am here to genuinely as well as strategically provide you with hope and way to move forward, when you may feel stuck. Especially, during those times when you are feeling loss, with no answers, or life seems more than you can handle. I am here for you. I am here to help you process feelings of anger, hurt, frustration, loneliness, insecurity, disappointment, shame or sadness. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges. I also have experience in Child Welfare working with children as well as adults with a history of physical trauma or emotional abuse (foster care, adoption). Even as an adult I have experienced personal trauma and understand that everyone responds differently and needs an individual approach to their healing journey.

My professional experience is working as a Mental Health as well as a Marriage and Family therapist. As a professional in my field I provide psychotherapy to adults, children/adolescents, couples as well as the family unit. I use evidenced based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Structural Family therapy (SFT), Family Systems Therapy (FST), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) among others. I am able to use different approaches as well as combining approaches as needed to serve you as an individual. I am very open, relaxed, easy going which has served me well while working with a multitude of people from diverse backgrounds and different stages of life.

What sets me apart?

Simply because, "I love what I do!" Being a therapist is more than just a career choice for me. It is much deeper. It reflects a core part of me that enjoys getting to know people on a deeper and real level without judgment. I am ready engage and reach out to you throughout the week if needed. I can help guide you through those personal challenges, help ease emotional burdens, and empower you to achieve a healthier mindset. With this new mindset, I feel you will be able to achieve new ways to live in both your professional and personal life.

She’s a wonderful therapist that always listens and gives me advice and counsel that I never knew I needed. Her insight is helpful and she’s a very understanding person. I couldn’t ask for a better therapist.

Teral is a great therapist. She has such a such a depth of knowledge that is truly refreshing in helping to connect many different and complex elements, with also such a breadth of life experience she draws on to help make those same elements more easily understandable, digestible, and relatable. It is truly enjoyable having her as a therapist that can make complex topics simple, but also truly uses her knowledge and experience to be able to connect with her clients with where they are. Teral is such a wonderfully empathetic therapist that I've had the absolute pleasure in working through things with her, and can only say I feel very lucky in having her as my therapist.

Teral, in a short amount of time, has helped me more than I thought possible. She has given me real-life methods and ideas to work with. She understands what I am saying from what I say and from her own similar life experiences.

She is really good and I whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone looking for actionable advice and results.
